DAYCARE


The Barking Lot is a Premier Doggie Daycare that provides a safe, and exciting day for your beloved dog. Through games and activities, we stimulate both mind and body of our four legged guests. Doggie Daycare is a great opportunity for your dog to socialize and exercise with other friendly dogs in a safe, supervised, crate-free environment. They are able to run free and play in a 10,000 sq ft facility always under the careful watch of our trained staff. Our outdoor play area is one of the largest in CT; over 3,000 sq ft of securely fenced in open space. Let’s face it, dog’s love to be outside! Whether they’re climbing on the jungle gyms, taking a dip in one of our kiddy pools, pouncing around in the snow, or sunbathing on one of the doggie hammocks, they all enjoy the freedom of the open outdoors.

 

At The Barking Lot, we are aware of the guilt and anxiety you feel for leaving your dog home alone for the day. Whether it’s from loneliness, boredom or destructive behavior, we understand because we have been there. Our goal is to entertain your dog all day long so he goes home to you happy and well exercised. While you are at work or away from home, it is our pleasure to step in to provide the attention and stimulation that all dogs desperately need and deserve.
We provide the ultimate care for your dog while encouraging proper behavior throughout their stay. We understand the importance in responding to inappropriate behavior quickly and consistently. We want every dog to learn to play in a fun and safe way that is not overwhelming or intimidating for other dogs in the playgroup. Any needed behavior modification is corrected immediately through voice tone, body language, water bottles and positive reinforcement. All dogs must pass a temperament evaluation prior to enrolling in daycare to ensure non-aggressive behavior.

 

Daycare Evaluation :


All new dogs must pass an onsite temperament evaluation prior to scheduling daycare visits. Since all dogs are off-leash and cage-free in the play areas, aggressive dogs are not accepted. Once the evaluation is passed, they are officially invited into The Barking Lot Family and always welcome as our guest, whether it is for daycare or over night sleepovers.

OVERNIGHT SLEEPOVERS

 

The Barking Lot is an alternative to your average “kennel”. Our goal is to entertain and exercise your dog all day long while providing him with a safe and CLEAN environment. We do not believe in keeping dogs crated for their stay, nor do we believe that 2 walks/day is nearly enough to release the energy a dog has. Instead of being confined to a kennel, they are free to explore the open environment and securely fenced in outdoors while always being supervised by our trained staff. At night, they snuggle up with their favorite toy or blanket in their own private suite. They play all day long so they sleep soundly at night. We do our best to make sure your dog is as comfortable as possible while he is on “vacation” at The Barking Lot. Our over night guests are always spoiled with lots of love and affection. At bedtime, we dim the lights, turn on soothing music and tuck them in with a goodnight kiss. Rest assured, when your dog stays with us at The Barking Lot, he is treated like family.
We offer two types of boarding; Boarding with Daycare and Individual Boarding.

 

Boarding with Daycare (no extra cost!) :


If your dog is well socialized and friendly with other dogs, we highly suggest boarding with daycare. Daycare allows overnight guests to play outside of their room all day long in specialized playgroups. They are able to run free and play in a 10,000 sq ft facility always under the careful watch of our trained staff. Our outdoor play area is huge, over 3,000 sq ft of fenced in open space, equipped with jungle gyms to climb on, kiddy pools to dip in and resting spots for sunbathing. The only time they spend in their “private room” is to sleep, eat, and to take some well-needed naps.
(All dogs must pass a temperament evaluation prior to daycare enrollment).

 

Individual Boarding with specialized, one on one care :

 

If our furry friends are not part of the doggie daycare program, they will be cared for individually by our staff and pampered with lots of one on one attention. They will also have the chance to run free in our large indoor and outdoor play areas during their stay. We have an additional outdoor play area specifically designated for our dogs that need individual care. This way, they too, can enjoy the freedom of the open environment and outdoors just like our daycare guests.
(All dogs must be evaluated prior to boarding. We do not board aggressive dogs).

 

Reservations :


We highly recommend placing overnight reservations at least 2-3 weeks in advance, especially during peak seasons and holidays. Reservations are made on a first come, first serve basis. We encourage first time guests to schedule their evaluation at least 48 hours prior to their check-in. We will always do our best to accommodate last minute reservations.

 

Drop-off & Pick-up :

 

Think of a hotel…our policy is very similar.
Monday- Friday, Drop off is between 3:00- 7:00 p.m. on day of arrival and pick-up is between 7:00-11:00a.m. on day of departure. Early check-in and late check-outs are subject to a half-day of daycare. There are no drop-offs or pick-ups bewteen11:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, check-in and check-out are between 5:30-6:30p.m. only.
